Aurora Kareh

Year: 2013
Hometown: The Woodlands, TX
Dorm: Lyons Hall
Major: Science Preprofessional
Aurora is interested in practicing medicine in underserved countries, and feels like the education about poverty that she can obtain from the minor, as well as exposure through the experiential learning requirement will be extremely beneficial for her as she works toward her future career.
Aurora has taken Intro to Poverty Studies, Multicultural Psychology, Marriage and the Family, and Intro to Social Problems as some of her course requirements for the minor. She has also been to Appalachia three times and has participated in an internship in the Dominican Republic that fulfilled her experiential learning requirement. She is a huge fan of the experiential learning component of the minor and says, "It makes everything we learn in class come to life and gives us an opportunity to make a change in the community, both local and at large."
Fun Fact: Aurora is really good at making friendship bracelets.
