Colleen decided to become a Poverty Studies minor after traveling to West Virginia and Kentucky on two Appalachian seminars her freshman and sophomore years. Colleen also lived in Rochester, NY this summer participating in a SSLP in a Catholic Worker House there. All three of these experiences shocked her. She could not believe that the depth of poverty she experienced in those places could exist here in America. These experiences drove Colleen to want to learn more about poverty and its causes and implications, and so she became a Poverty Studies minor. Colleen is currently in the Introduction to Poverty Studies class and so far she loves it.
Colleen is the current Vice President of Ryan Hall. She plasn on obtaining a Masters in Social Work after graduation.
