Dorm: Welsh Family Hall
Major(s)/Minor(s): Marketing/Spanish & Poverty Studies
Morgan became interested in the Poverty Studies minor because her very close family member suffered a traumatic brain injury at an incredibly young age. She volunteered at his physical therapy centers along with the Ronald McDonald house and was absolutely stunned by the stories of families presented with such limited (if even existent) options solely because they lack the incredibly steep financial resources for the therapy and treatment. Her trip to a Honduras orphanage this past summer with the student group Friends of the Orphans confirmed her passion for the program. Encountering such a severely impoverished country was eye-opening for Morgan. Spending time in that orphanage, though, she says, was also one of the best experiences of her life. After school, Morgan would like to be a part of the marketing strategy for non-profit corporations specializing in providing assistance to families of children with special needs, both nationally and internationally.
Morgan volunteers at the Ronald McDonald house here in South Bend and is set to volunteer at both the SOS Rape Crisis Center and the Boys and Girls Club.
